It is a world renowned group comprising of 3 famous banks namely The Royal bank of Scotland, The National Westminster Bank and the Ulster Bank limited. The 3 banks belong to Scotland, England and Wales and Ireland respectively. |
Other than in Europe, the Royal Bank of Scotland is also one of the leading banking institutions in several cities in North America and Asia.
There were several propositions and attempt towards acquiring and creating mergers with the Royal Bank of Scotland Group over time that all fell flat. Lloyds Bank, Standard Chartered, and also HSBC were the 3 illustrious bidders that over time sought to acquire stakes in the company or to take over it SSS or even create mergers so as to be able to establish the brand internationally.
However, as it was decided that it was against public interest to carry on with any of these offers, the Royal Bank of Scotland Group remained what it was and only grew continuously.
